Welcome to Polo Ridge Farms nestled in the Willamette Valley of Oregon in the
city of Monmouth, just west of Salem, the state capital and home to Congress Champion, Absolute Option. Polo Ridge Farms is proud to stand during the breeding season, Two-Time Reserve World Champion and Two-Time Congress Champion, Chocolua. Chocolua is a Multiple World Champion sire.
Carmen
Phillips — Owner
Carmen, a native Oregonian, started as a horse show mom. She is
now involved in the daily operation of the farm and eagerly
looks forward to January of each year for the foaling season.
Carmen has an MS in Foods and Nutrition which she applies to her
care and feeding program. Polo Ridge Farms’ vision has developed
with Carmen’s determination and the assistance of dedicated
trainers and handlers.
With all of the Willamette
Valley’s advantages, it offers a challenge to horse breeders.
Rainy winters and clay soil make it difficult to allow stock to
remain outside year round. In response, Carmen has designed and
built a heated facility including show barn, foaling area and
attached arena.
Jeff Buccello — Manager
Jeff, originally from California, is trainer and breeding manager at PRF. Jeff honed his breeding and equine care/management experience at prestigious ranches in both Texas and Arizona and has worked with nationally known horse trainers Chip Knost and Ted Turner. Since coming to Polo Ridge Farms, Jeff has been instrumental in the success that the farm has enjoyed as both a caring and cutting-edge breeding facility.
